What’s the use of learning English?

Did you know that 75% of the world’s mail is written in English? Believe it or not it’s true that English is the international language for politicians, businessmen, pilots, medical experts and so many other people. English has without a doubt become the global language.

You will be able to communicate in nearly all parts of the world if you can speak English. And even in quite far away places, like China, the number of English students has been growing not only in schools but also as a way to spend your free time.

We could name several reasons why English has become an international language but we will only give the two most important ones – on the one hand the grammar is much easier than the grammar of other major languages; on the other hand English is the official language spoken in many countries all over the world.

English is the mother tongue used by approximately four hundred million people in the British Isles, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. But that’s not all; we shouldn’t forget that in many areas in Africa and Asia – that were once British colonies – English is still a common language.

But Europe is no different. English is spoken wherever you go and there will always be someone who speaks English more or less fluently and always with a different pronunciation. Just for that fact, you could say that speaking English may be considered quite useful these days, if you really want to communicate freely with the world, overcoming the linguistic barriers. English is quite surely your passport language.
