O Present Continuous é usado para indicar ações que estão em progresso no presente; no momento da fala.

  Exemplos:

• He is talking to his teacher now.
• Are they playing soccer at the moment? 
• She is South African, but she’s living in Brazil at present.

O Simple Present é um tempo verbal utilizado para indicar ações habituais que ocorrem no presente. Além disso, ele é usado para expressar verdades universais, sentimentos, desejos, opiniões e preferências.

Exemplos:

• They playthe piano very well.
• He lovespainting.
• I alwaysstudy in the morning.
