Word classes (Classes gramaticais):

PRONOUNS: é a classe de palavras que acompanha ou substitui um substantivo ou um outro pronome, por exemplo: Personal Pronouns (I, you, he, she, it, we, you, they); Object Pronouns (Me, you, him, her, it, us, you, them); Interrogative Pronouns (what, where, when, who, why, how); Demonstrative Pronouns (this, that, these, those).

Samuel: Hello, Carla! How are you doing?

Carla: I am great and you?

Samuel: I am fine. Do you know how to play volleyball?

Carla: Yes, I play volleyball very well. I can jump and hit the ball. I love playing volleyball. And you?

Samuel: I cannot play volleyball. I can’t pass the ball to my teammate.

Carla: I play volleyball with my friends every Saturday. And I play with my family on Sunday. Do your parents know how to play volleyball?

Samuel: Yes, my father plays it very well and my mother is the best player. She is playing volleyball with her friends now. She is calling me to learn with her. Bye.

Carla: That’s great! Bye.

Volleyball Vocabulary Words

These vocabulary words will help you understand Volleyball, its skills and rules and allow you to appreciate our unit more.

ACE – A serve that is not passable and results immediately in a point.

ATTACK – The offensive action of hitting the ball. The attempt by one team to terminate the play by hitting the ball to the floor on the opponent’s side.

ATTACK BLOCK – Receiving players’ aggressive attempt to block a spiked ball before it crosses the net.
